Building the future of food brands.
Eduardo González
I come from two sides of the same story.
My grandfather on my father's side was a baker from Bustamante, Nuevo León — a small-town entrepreneur who took the risk of leaving everything behind to build something in Monterrey. He built a bakery that carried over 100 years of family tradition. My grandmother on my mother's side did the same, but across the border — she emigrated to Dallas, Texas and built one of the most recognized Mexican restaurants in the city. Two people, two countries, same DNA: make food, feed people, build something from nothing.
I owe everything I am to them. I've been in the food industry since I was 8 years old — selling bread on the street on my grandfather's side, cleaning tables and washing dishes at my grandmother's restaurant in Dallas. I learned what skin in the game means before I knew the term. This industry didn't start for me in a boardroom — it started with my hands.
Over the past 12+ years, I've built and scaled multiple food brands from zero — leading operations, finance, branding, and kitchen systems. I've assembled teams, designed commissary kitchens, and opened locations across Mexico. I know what it takes to make a food brand work: the margins, the systems, the people, the obsession with execution.
Now I'm building Mauna Food Ventures — a venture studio focused exclusively on the food industry. We don't invest from the sidelines. We create brands, build the infrastructure, and operate them ourselves. Skin in the game, always.
Third generation. First generation building a venture studio around it.
A venture studio focused on the food industry.
Mauna Food Ventures identifies opportunities in the food market, designs brands from scratch, builds their operational infrastructure, and scales them with financial rigor.
We're not a passive fund. We don't invest and wait. We are operators with skin in the game — every brand we create, we build it, we run it, and we grow it with our own hands.
"Mauna means mountain in Hawaiian. A volcano is a mountain with fire inside. That's us: visible structure, invisible fire."
That translates into a real operational advantage: we know how to read a market, design a menu that sells, build a kitchen that performs, control costs, and scale without losing quality.
We didn't study this industry from the outside — we've lived it from the inside. That's what Mauna brings to the table.
From opportunity to scale. This is how Mauna operates.
Every brand we create goes through a rigorous five-phase process. We don't launch ideas — we launch validated businesses with financial, operational, and human structure from day one.
What makes us different is that we don't delegate the execution. Every Mauna brand is operated directly by its founding team. The investor isn't betting on a plan — they're betting on a team that already knows how to build.
This isn't for everyone.
We're not looking for capital that only wants a safe return. We're looking for partners who recognize talent, bet on structured vision, and understand that the best opportunities are taken before they become obvious.
The investor profile we're looking for
Individuals or entities with an appetite for calculated risk, who value teams over ideas, execution over promises, and who want to actively participate in building a portfolio of food brands with real scale potential.
Mauna operates as a venture studio: seed capital enters at the holding level and funds the simultaneous development of multiple brands. Each brand with its own P&L, projections, and operational structure.
